Cookies

Cookie policy

The complete list of what this site stores in your browser, what is optional, and how to say no.

Last updated: July 10, 2026. This page applies to samtravelchick.com and to no other website.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser to remember something about you between page views or visits. Related technologies — localStorage, pixels, and similar — work differently under the hood but serve the same purpose, and this policy covers them all under the word “cookies.”

2. How this site uses them

samtravelchick.com uses deliberately few. They fall into three groups:

Strictly necessary

One localStorage entry, stc_prefs_2026, records the choice you make in the cookie banner so we do not ask you again on every page. It contains only the word describing your choice, expires with your browser data, and cannot be switched off — without it, the banner would reappear indefinitely.

Analytics (optional, consent-based)

If we enable audience measurement, it runs only after you choose “Accept all” in the banner. Analytics cookies help us understand which stories are read and how readers move through the site, in aggregate. Choosing “Essential only” keeps them off entirely, and the site works identically either way.

Advertising (optional, consent-based)

Where third-party display advertising is shown, the advertising network may set cookies to measure ad delivery and, with consent, to tailor advertising. These cookies are controlled by the network that sets them, subject to its own privacy policy, and are only set if you choose “Accept all.” With “Essential only,” any advertising shown is non-personalized.

3. Your choices

  • The banner: on your first visit you can choose “Accept all” or “Essential only.” Your choice applies across the site.
  • Changing your mind: clear this site's data in your browser (or use private browsing) and the banner will ask again on the next visit.
  • Browser controls: every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies globally or per-site — see your browser's settings under Privacy. Blocking all cookies for this site will not break any content; you will simply see the banner on each visit.
  • Industry opt-outs: for interest-based advertising generally, you can also use the opt-out tools at optout.aboutads.info and networkadvertising.org/choices.

4. The current inventory

As of the date at the top of this page, the complete list of storage this site itself sets is: stc_prefs_2026 (localStorage, consent choice, strictly necessary). Any analytics or advertising cookies present are set by the respective third party only after consent, as described above. If our usage changes, this inventory will be updated before the change goes live.

5. Questions

Anything unclear? Write to privacy@samtravelchick.com — cookie questions count as privacy questions and get answered by the same human. Broader detail on data handling lives in the privacy policy.
